Spotlight on Vicki Mannix, December Artist of the Month: Vicki Mannix will have her extensive collection of knitted wearable art on special display in the Gallery for December’s “Shop Manzanita, Shop Local” event on December 7. Items perfect for holiday giving include baby sweaters and hats, shawls, scarves, and cowls in original designs and unusual fiber combinations. Gallery stays open until 8 pm for convenience. Live music!

Shop Manzanita, Shop Local, Friday December 7: Holiday shopping for friends and family. The gallery offers endless opportunities to gift with imagination. Manzanita Arts Emporium, 1211 S. Main Street, Angels Camp 95222. Gallery doors remain open until 8 pm. Sales and drawings for giveaways. Purchase $100 or more and receive a free gift valued at $20, to keep or re-gift for the holidays.

Writers Unlimited Meetings:

Monday Morning and Evening Meetings will take a December hiatus and resume in January with its regular schedule. Monday, December 17 at 6 pm: Volunteer Center of Calaveras County, 455 Lewis St., San Andreas.  Reserve your attendance with an email, please, and bring a dish to share, if you like.  Bring a very short wintry or holiday piece to read to the festive throngs.

“Voices of Wisdom” Writing Classes for Seniors 55+ continues on Tuesdays, December 4, 11, 18 from 1 to 3 pm at Manzanita Arts Emporium, 1211 S. Main Street, Angels Camp 95222. FREE program.  Go to manzapress.com for times and locations. Classes hosted by Manzanita Writers Press. December Writing coach: Denella Kimura. January Tuesday sessions from 1-3 pm will consist of intensive sessions with selecting, group editing, and shaping our writing stemming from all writing sessions from August through December 2018 for participants.

Sunday, December 9, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm: Dave Bunnell presents  “The World Beneath Us: Caves of the World.” A fantastic free presentation with slide show, and expertise by one of our foremost cavers, and National Geographic photographer, residing in Angels Camp.
