Spotlight on Jan Alcalde, October’s Artist of the Month: Watercolorist and Photographer Jan Alcalde will be at the Gallery for October’s “Shop Manzanita, Shop Local” event October 5, on hand with new works to capture the imagination and please the eye.
Shop Manzanita, Shop Local: Friday, October 5, 4-8pm: Holiday shopping for friends and family in a welcoming environment that offers endless opportunities to gift with imagination. Ideas for all ages include wall and table art, books galore, custom-designed jewelry, curios and keepsakes, cards and musical instruments, puppets, candles. Henna designs and demos, aromatherapy sampling and products, knitted wraps, hats and gifts, microme jewelry, and more. Manzanita Arts Emporium, 1211 S. Main Street, San Andreas. Saturday, October 20, from noon to 1 pm: Hoot and Holler, on the corner of Rasberry and South Main Street, at the Mark Twain Wild West Fest. Audiences will enjoy cowboy poetry and tall tales or exciting Wild West true stories. Humor and wit encouraged for all ages. Public invited to tell a cowboy/cowgirl story or poem.
